Argentina - Can companies read their employees corporate e-mails? A great discussion about the privacy of corporate e-mails has recently emerged in Argentina. Following the global trend, local companies have started implementing corporate policies for purposes of accessing corporate e-mails and filing them as evidence in an eventual claim. The problem is that Argentina has no specific regulations to determine whether or not it is legal for companies to read the e-mails that their employees receive and/or send from their work computers, and courts do not have a unified opinion on the matter. The only issue in which Courts seem to agree is that legislation should be adjusted in order to adapt to the progress of technology. However, no regulation has yet been issued on the matter.
