On July 2, 2013, the National Assembly passed a bill amending the Commercial Building Lease Protection Act to enhance protection of commercial building tenants (“Commercial Tenants”) by recognizing certain rights of Commercial Tenants, including the right to request renewal of commercial lease agreements regardless of the security deposit amount.  The amended Commercial Building Lease Protection Act is currently awaiting promulgation by the president and may become effective from as early as the second half of this year.
