The House of Representatives has enacted a law to harmonize and simplify the social security.

The law simplifies and harmonizes the contribution of premiums for employee insurance schemes and disability insurances. This includes changes in the Sickness Benefits Act, the Work and Income (Capacity for Work) Act, Disability Insurance Act, Disability Insurance (Self-Employed Persons) Act and the Disability Insurance (Young Disabled Persons) Act. The legislative amendments should simplify the implementation by the UWV, facilitate a faster determination of the benefits, and facilitate a greater transparency of the system for insured persons.

The law may come into force on January 1, 2011.
