More onerous reporting obligations on gender equity issues for private sector employers with more than 100 employees have commenced with reports from those employers due between 1 April to 31 May this year. Organisations covered by the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (Cth) (previously known as Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (Cth)) are required to report annually with information about the organisation and its “gender equity indicators” such as gender composition and equal pay measures for the 12-month period from 1 April in the previous year to 31 March.
