The USCIS continues to experience significant delays in inputting all of the Adjustment of Status applications which were filed in the one month period prior to August 17, 2007. As of September 21, 2007, the USCIS indicated that the Nebraska Service Center was assigning cases for data inputting which were received during the first week of August 2007. The USCIS also indicated that the Texas Service Center was assigning cases which were received during the last week of July for data inputting. Due to the inordinate number of cases received during this timeframe, it is assumed that it will take at least one to two weeks before each of the centers is able to data in put all the cases received during that particular timeframe and then issue the receipt notices. In total, it is estimated by our firm that the USCIS may take up to 12 weeks to issue receipt notices for all of the Adjustment of Status applications (with their ancillary applications) which were filed prior to August 17, 2007. Additional information about the front log in data inputting these Adjustment of Status cases will be contained in our firm’s future Immigration Updates when it becomes available.
