In the March 2010 edition of our Medical Update, we reported on the Fitness to Practise proceedings brought by the GMC against Dr Robert Trossel. He was charged with having taken advantage of patients with Multiple Sclerosis, by offering them stem cell injections that were intended only for laboratory use and charging them thousands of pounds for the service. On 29 September 2010, the GMC struck off Dr Robert Trossel from its register. He will have 28 days to appeal, but after this point the GMC’s determination will be made public, opening the way for legal action against Dr Trossel by the patients affected.
