Yesterday, by a voice vote, the Kansas Senate passed a bill that would require Kansas to approve two coal-burning power plants. The final vote on the bill is expected today with 27 votes being the target number which would prevent a possible veto by Governor Sebelius. Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley (D-Topeka) said, "This won’t be the last time we see this. This is an issue that will consume much of this session."
