On 1 October 2008 the Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Regulations 2008 came into force. The effect of this is that employers will no longer be required to keep their liability insurance certificates for 40 years, nor will they have to display them at each place of business.

Employers will instead have to ensure that all certificates are electronically available to the relevant employees.
