President-elect Obama has announced who would hold top energy and environment positions under his administration. Carol Browner, EPA Administrator under the Clinton administration, has been tapped to a newly created position, assistant to the president on energy and climate change. Obama also announced that he will be nominating Steven Chu for the Secretary of Energy, Lisa Jackson for EPA Administrator, and Nancy Sutley to head the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Also of note, but not yet announced, is that Colorado Senator Ken Salazar will likely take the lead position at the Interior Department.
