On January 27 2012 the National Agency for Water Transportation (ANTAQ) published an amendment to its internal regulations in order to create the position of the Superintendence of Inspection and Coordination of the Regional Administrative Units.
The position recently created by ANTAQ will have two sets of management - port inspection and navigation inspection.
Among other duties, it will be responsible for:
- consolidating the annual inspection plan;
- applying penalties; and
- proposing the commencement of litigious administrative proceedings before the agency's board of officers.
