On March 28 2017 the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) published the fourth edition of the Guidelines for Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies: Canada, which set out the best practices for determining the economic value of health technologies.
The updated guidelines account for methodological advancements which have occurred in the economic evaluation of health technologies since the publication of the last edition of the guidelines in 2006. Advancements in methodology include a probabilistic analysis, which accounts for uncertainty in source data.
The guidelines were authored by a working group of leading Canadian health economists and created through consultation with patient and industry groups.
