The recently amended Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the Procedure for Procurement of Special Permits for Subsurface Exploration has established the charges that will be levied for pursuing such activities. The charges vary depending on the type of subsurface use involved.
According to the resolution, the charges are as follows:

| Construction and use of subsurface facilities unrelated to the extraction of minerals (except for subsurface depots (i) to store oil, gas or radioactive substances, or (ii) housing medical, recreation, cultural or educational institutions) | 80 (about $262) | 40 (about $131) |
| Construction of subsurface depots to store oil and gas, or bury and store radioactive or toxic substances | 100 (about $327) | 50 (about $164) |
