The Brazilian payment services sector has changed significantly in recent years due to the enactment of new laws and regulations that intend to foster innovation, competition and financial inclusion. As such, there has been a substantial increase in the number of players in the field.

This webinar will provide an overview of the applicable regulatory framework and discuss recent developments in the Brazilian payment services sector. It will also present the most relevant discussions between the Brazilian Central Bank and market players regarding data privacy, cybersecurity, open banking and fast payments regulation, as well as recent antitrust investigations by the Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defence in cases involving payment services.

He earned a full professor of law degree (livre-docente) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, where he teaches commercial law. He was the president of Associação Brasileira de Direito de Informática e Telecomunicações and a former director of the Brazilian Committee of Arbitration and the legal committee of the Brazil-Spain Chamber of Commerce.
