Brexit and the changing immigration landscape for EU and non-EU nationals

Fox Williams LLP

Is your business prepared for the introduction of new immigration rules in the United Kingdom and their impact on your current and future employees?

Now that the UK government has clarified the position of European nationals who are working in the country, corporates should prepare for the new rules and be aware of the implications for both individual employees and for their business as a whole.

With freedom of movement set to end, EU nationals will be obliged to make specific applications to secure their right to be in the United Kingdom and to continue to work here. These new requirements will be imposed regardless of the outcome of the Brexit negotiations. Non-EU national family members of EU nationals will also be affected. Corporates should therefore be up to speed with the actions to take now and in the short-term future, and they should understand the potentially costly consequences of failing to take action. In some cases, this could mean the business-critical loss of key employees.

Non-EU nationals will likewise be subject to amended immigration rules. This webinar will also address these provisions, highlighting the requirements that UK employers must meet as sponsors and how the changes may affect employers and employees in the United Kingdom.
