Taylor Wessing

Description

Jonathan Rogers will discuss the first nine months of implementation of the European Union’s second Payment Services Directive (PSD2). The webinar will begin with a high-level overview of PSD2 and its main objectives. Discussion will then move on to the Regulatory Technical Standard which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union in March 2018, including the recent opinion issued by the European Banking Authority on strong customer authentication. The presentation will then look at the occasions on which the courts in the United Kingdom and Europe have been asked to opine on matters relating to payment systems, before closing with a look to the future, including a consideration of the impact that Brexit may have.
