The European Council (Heads of State or Government) has agreed on a set of measures intended to raise confidence in the banking sector by facilitating access to term funding through a coordinated approach at EU level
The European Commission has published a press release advising of a combined statement from it, the Financial Services Agency of Japan, the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the US Securities and Exchange Commission which proposes changes to strengthen the institutional framework of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation and encourages the Foundation’s related efforts, while emphasizing the continued importance of an independent standard-setting process
