Following Friday's announcement of a tentative cost-cutting deal between General Motors of Canada Limited (GM-Canada) and the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union, this evening, the CAW announced that members working at GM-Canada in Oshawa, Windsor, St. Catharines and Woodstock, Ontario have voted overwhelmingly, ratifying the deal by 86 in favor of the new collective agreement

Yesterday, the Canadian Minister of Industry Tony Clement and Minister of International Trade Stockwell Day announced the creation of the Canadian Warranty Commitment Program, which will guarantee consumer warranties on new vehicles purchased from General Motors of Canada Limited (GM-Canada) and Chrysler Canada Inc. (Chrysler-Canada), until "improved restructuring plans are put in place."
