ESMA has published final RTS relating to data access and aggregation and comparison of data under EMIR. The amendments proposed in the final draft RTS relate to the use of XML templates based on ISO20022 methodology, minimum standards for secure machine to machine connection and data exchange between trade repositories (TRs) and authorities, harmonised timeliness and frequencies for data access, enhanced procedures for data security and validations of the data requests by TRs. ESMA has submitted the final draft RTS to the European Commission. The Commission has three months from the receipt of the RTS to decide whether to endorse them.
