The Financial Markets Law Committee has published its letter to IOSCO concerning the work of the IOSCO task force on cross-border regulation. The FMLC recognises the benefit of increased co-operation among supervisors of cross-border financial entities and supports IOSCO’s proposal that, as part of the recommended next steps, IOSCO should consider setting up an information repository of supervisory co-operation MoUs entered into by its members to assist other members in developing bilateral arrangements. The FMLC therefore encourages the development and use of effective templates for MoUs among regulatory and supervisory authorities and states in its letter that it, and the steering group members, would be happy to assist IOSCO in its efforts to develop these templates.
