FATF publishes terrorist finance report: FATF has published a report on financing the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). The report looks at the sources and methods of financing, and says it will now work with other organisations to strengthen counter-terrorism tools. There will be a further report to G20 by October. FATF gives progress update: FATF has updated on:
- jurisdictions in relation to which countermeasures still apply: there is no change to Iran and North Korea's place on this list;
- jurisdictions it feels are making insufficient progress in improving their laws to counter money laundering and terrorist financing: it notes Uganda in this section;
- jurisdictions that are under review: 11 jurisdictions are in this list; and
- jurisdictions no longer subject to the ongoing compliance progress: there are seven of these, including Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
