Basel has published a new report on the progress made in implementing Basel 3. It notes that several jurisdictions have not yet issued regulations to implement Basel 2.5, with the United States and Russia among them. Basel will also be monitoring, through ongoing peer reviews, whether implementation is consistent with the minimum standards agreed under Basel 3. Additionally, a third level of review will focus on banks’ risk-weighting practices, with Basel expected to conduct joint on-site visits to large, internationally active banks.
