David Cameron announced new rates for the National Minimum Wage on 14 March 2016, effective from 1 October 2016.

The new rates are:

  • £6.95 (21 – 24 year olds)
  • £5.55 (18 – 20 year olds)
  • £4.00 (under 18 but above the compulsory school age)
  • £3.40 (apprentices)

Please remember that for over 25s, the National Living Wage comes into effect on 1 April 2016, with a rate of £7.20 per hour.
