In a recent statement, the Data Protection Officer for Thüringen, Lutz Hasse, has warned against fingerprint scanners which will enable pupils to order and pay for their school lunches.

In Hasse’ statement, he announced his intention to examine the legality of the scanners and reiterated the lifetime consequences for an individual in the event that their fingerprint data was stolen.
