Under the Regulation respecting the report on pay equity, employers may have to file declarations to provide or update certain information regarding pay equity.
Up until July 8, 2015, this was imposed upon employers with 6 or more employees. On July 8, the Regulation was amended to raise this threshold to 11 employees. In other words, employers with fewer than 11 employees are now exempt from this requirement.
According to the government, some 25,000 employers with 6 to 10 employees would benefit from this measure.
