PRA has published a modification by consent for non-Solvency 2 firms relating to the senior insurance managers regime (SIMR) rules in the Senior Insurance Management Functions part of the PRA Rulebook.  PRA has recognised that it would be unduly burdensome to require insolvency practitioners acting on behalf of insolvent insurance firms that are dormant to comply with the SIMR, provided the firms have ceased underwriting, have no remaining assets and have been declared in default by FSCS. PRA has offered a modification that means insolvency practitioners for these firms fall out of scope. It has written to those it believes are affected offering the modification. The direction will end on 30 April 2017 unless revoked before that date. (Source: PRA publishes modification by consent for dormant insolvent insurers)
