The General Employment Directorate releases the list of paid and non-recoverable national and regional public holidays for 2017.

Resolution of 4 October 2016 of the General Employment Directorate publishing the list of public holidays for 2017

Among the paid and non-recoverable national holidays, we may distinguish between: a) national holidays which the regional authorities may not replace; or b) those which the regional authorities may choose to celebrate or replace with their own traditional dates.

Among the powers afforded to the regional authorities there is also the possibility of replacing the rest day given on a Monday following a national holiday which falls on a Sunday by incorporating their own traditional holidays into the corresponding regional list, as well as the option between celebrating the Fiesta de San José and the Fiesta de Santiago Apóstol in the relevant territories.

Lastly, the list of national, regional public holidays and those for Ceuta and Melilla for 2017 are attached as an annex to the referred resolution published in the Official State Gazette.
