Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, made his autumn statement. It includes announcements on the following:
- the government’s intention to publish a response in December on its call for evidence on removing the barriers to the creation of a secondary market in annuities; and
- designating Experian, Equifax and CreditSafe under the Small and Medium Sized Business (Credit Information) Regulations 2015 so that they will receive SME credit information from designated banks and provide equal access to this information to all finance providers. The government intends this to increase competition in the SME credit markets.
