The U.S. Department of State (DOS) voided the results of its 2012 Diversity Lottery, previously posted on its website, because they were posted in error and did not represent a fair, random selection of entrants as required by U.S. law. A computer programming error led to the erroneous, non-random results. The results posted are no longer valid and a new selection process will be conducted based on the original entries for the 2012 program. Those that submitted qualified entries between 5 October 2010 and 3 November 2010 will automatically be included in the new selection lottery, with results expected to be posted on or about 15 July 2011. No new entries will be accepted.
