The Crown Court has found a solicitor and his father-in-law guilty of insider dealing after FSA brought criminal proceedings for the first time. Christopher McQuoid was counsel at TTP Communications. Two days before a takeover about which Mr McQuoid had been told in confidence, his father-in-law bought TTP shares that he then sold for a profit and three months later gave Mr McQuoid a cheque for half those profits.
