UKVI has launched a new visa processing scheme for Chinese visitors (which includes business visitors) wanting to visit the UK and Belgium. The pilot scheme which commences on 1 July allows a single application to be made from UK Visa Application Centres (VAC) in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai for travel to the UK and the Schengen countries.
In order to qualify, individuals need to continue to ensure that Belgium is the main Schengen destination. Individuals whose main Schengen destination is a different country must continue to apply directly to the relevant embassy.
This pilot scheme is further evidence that the Government is trying to encourage Chinese tourists and business visitors to visit the UK. For further information on the scheme, please click here.
