The ICC recently announced that it will open a branch of its Secretariat in Hong Kong. This is a significant development, given that it will enable the ICC to administer Asia-related arbitrations from Hong Kong, rather than from its headquarters in Paris, and is expected to increase the attractiveness of ICC arbitration to parties seeking to arbitrate in Asia.

The ICC will also open a liaison office dedicated to the ICC Dispute Resolution Service in Singapore.

It is understood that the aim is to have both offices operational by the end of 2008.
