The House of Assembly is to investigate the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance and Investment Promotion chairman, Mr Paddy Zhanda, after he allegedly sought bribes from the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), Dr Gideon Gono, in return for dropping the committee’s investigations into the central bank’s activities. The Portfolio Committee had been investigating the operations of the RBZ and the financial dealings of its board members.
