On February 13, 2017, ALJ David P. Shaw issued Order No. 8 in Certain Mobile Electronic Devices (Inv. No. 337-TA-1029).
By way of background, this investigation is based on an October 14, 2016 complaint filed by Qualcomm Inc. alleging violation of Section 337 by way of unlawful importation into the U.S., selling for importation, and/or selling within the U.S. after importation certain mobile electronic devices that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,095,082; 7,999,384; 7,548,407; 8,497,928; and 7,949,367. According to Order No. 8, ALJ Shaw granted a joint motion filed by Qualcomm and Respondents Meizu Technology Co., Ltd., Meizu Telecom Equipment Co., Ltd., and Overseas Electronics, Inc. to terminate the investigation in its entirety (i) for the Meizu Respondents based on a Settlement Agreement, and (ii) based on withdrawal of the complaint as to Respondents Overseas, Dest Technology Limited and LGYD Limited.
