On 25 May the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) released their annual inspection program. Under this program, the CNIL have the authority to carry out 4 types of inspections; onsite inspections, document reviews, hearings and online inspections.

The body set a target of 550 inspections to be undertaken during 2015. These inspections will focus on a variety of technology and data processing operations including: contactless payment systems; CCTV, connected objects for 'well being and health', public Wi-Fi connections, companies processing of employee personal data and data processing operations covered by Binding Corporate Rules. As in 2014; CNIL will continue to conduct investigations in co-operation with other DPAs.
