Shareholders in 'large' NVs and BVs may get more limited access to the Enterprise Chamber in Amsterdam. Under a bill approved by the Dutch cabinet last Friday, a shareholder will have to represent a minimum of 1% of the issued share capital in companies with an issued share capital of EUR 22.5 million or more in order to instigate a corporate inquiry (enquête) into the company. Alternatively, a shareholder's interest in the company needs to represent a market value of at least EUR 20 million. The current threshold lies at EUR 225,000 (or 10% of the issued share capital).

In companies with an issued share capital below EUR 22.5 million the threshold will remain the same.
