The cantonal corporate tax reform in Vaud was subject to a voting on March 20, 2016. The left wing parties managed to collect 17'000 signatures, which clearly exceeded the required 12'000 for a cantonal referendum.

However, the reform was approved by over 87% of the voters. It stipulates a significant reduction of the corporate tax rate from currently 22.33% to 13.79% by 2019.

In September 2015 the government of the Canton of Vaud passed the first political hurdle, when it adopted a cantonal corporate tax reform. The reform stipulates a significant reduction of the corporate tax rate in order to maintain a competitive business location.
