The FCA has called for input in relation to its upcoming post-implementation review of its crowdfunding rules. The FCA is now seeking input on which areas it should consider as part of its review of the rules covering investment-based crowdfunding and loan-based crowdfunding. Issues on which the FCA is seeking views include: (i) whether financial promotions, due diligence and prudential standards still appropriate; (ii) should platforms be required to assess investor knowledge or experience of the risks involved; (iii) should investors be protected by the FSCS if a platform fails; and (iv) other issues relating to conflicts of interest, due diligence rules for platforms and disclosure of risk warnings. Comments are invited by 8 September 2016.
