The European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) has voted to adopt its draft reports on the proposed Directive and the proposed Regulation delaying the application date of the MiFID II legislative package by one year to 3 January 2018. ECON has also voted in favour of a targeted amendment to create a specific transparency regime for packaged transactions, to introduce a clarification for the own account exemption and to exempt securities financing transactions from the MiFID II transparency rules. The texts of the adopted reports have not yet been made publicly available.
