Companies trying to submit their annual share plan returns online to the HMRC since Friday, July 3rd have not been able to complete the submission process due to technical problems with HMRC's online system.
Due to these issues, the HMRC has confirmed there will be an extension for filing the annual returns. The extension will run for 5 working days from the date the online service is up and running again, which is not expected until Monday, July 13th at the earliest. The HMRC is advising companies to try the service again on Monday, July 13th.
Note that the extension does not cover the requirement to register your plan(s) with HMRC, which should have been completed by July 6th for any plans operated during the 2014/2015 tax year.
