The Competition Commission has finalised measures to introduce competition into the Payment Protection Insurance markets. The package covers all PPI except retail PPI and includes a ban on point-of-sale PPI until seven days after the sale, and obligations to provide personal PPI quotes and information that makes it clear PPI is available from various providers. The order takes effect from 6 April although there will be staggered implementation. (Source: News Release on final PPI order)
