The Investment Association has revised its approach to its statement of principles following concerns raised by some members that the reporting requirement imposed an additional compliance burden. The IA's original policy was that those members that were signatories to the principles should publish statements on their websites explaining how they intended to apply the principles within their businesses. The IA has now decided that signatories to the principles do not need to publish statements on their websites. It has also decided not to maintain a list of signatories. The IA states that the statement of principles should offer a useful framework for firms when reviewing their values.
