On August 1st, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority advised it is modifying the criteria and process for candidates whose primary language is not English to receive additional time to complete a qualification examination or Regulatory Element Continuing Education session. Effective September 1, 2012, individuals with limited English proficiency ("LEP") must meet the LEP criteria as outlined in the Notice to qualify to receive additional time to complete an examination or continuing education session. Additionally, these individuals must submit to FINRA a LEP Request Form and receive notification that the form has been processed before scheduling an examination or continuing education session appointment. “I make an effort to read at least several articles each day and regularly share the particularly relevant or interesting articles with my colleagues. I greatly appreciate the inclusion of the Lexology service by the State Bar of Texas and have recommended that my friends and colleagues join the Corporate Counsel Section of the State Bar in order to obtain this service for themselves.”
