The Brazilian government has initiated an antidumping investigation on flat-rolled austenitic and stainless steels. This development will be of interest to companies that export flat-rolled stainless steel to Brazil or whose products use downstream products of Brazilian flat-rolled steel. The investigation covers imports into Brazil from the United States, Germany, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Finland and South Africa.
The scope of the investigation includes stainless steel of type 304 and ferritic stainless steels of type 430, cold rolled, with a thickness equal to or greater than 0.35 mm but less than 4.75 mm. The products are normally classified under the following harmonized tariff schedule eight-digit codes: 7219.32.00, 7219.33.00, 7219.34.00, 7219.35.00 or 7220.20.90.
