Facebook is facing legal action in Belgium over its alleged 'trampling' over Belgian and European privacy law. The lawsuit is based on the alleged tracking of non users and logged out users for advertising purposes. The case is brought by the Belgium Privacy Commission (the BPC) which lacked the power to fine Facebook but now has followed through on its promise to take legal action.

The results of this case will shape similar lawsuits in Europe if the Judge finds in the BPC's favour.
