On 29 September 2010, it was reported in the press that Ericsson and Philips Electronics are being represented by litigation firm Claims Funding International (“CFI”) in a cartel damages action claim against Air France-KLM. Air France-KLM have paid out money to settle claims in the US but it is reported that no payments have so far been made in Europe. CLI estimates that the claim is currently worth €400 million but that this figure would be revised upwards if interest is to be taken into account. The European Commission has been investigating claims that a number of airlines fixed tariffs in the air cargo industry but has not yet concluded its investigations. Click here for more information.
