The FCA has published a Call for Input on the terms and definitions for services linked to payment accounts and subject to fees. The FCA is required under the Payment Accounts Directive to develop a list of the key services linked to payment accounts that are subject to a fee in the UK. The FCA is seeking views on services it proposes to include on the list and on the suggested terms and definitions to describe those services.
The Call for Input will help to inform the UK position when terms and definitions for some of the services linked to payment accounts are standardised at EU level.
The FCA is seeking views from banks, building societies, other providers of payment accounts within the meaning of the Directive (such as e-money issuers) and their trade bodies, as well as consumers and organisations representing the interests of consumers.
The Call for Input can be read here. Any feedback should be submitted by 17 July 2015. A Feedback Statement will then be published during the first half of September 2015.
