FSA has published a waiver by consent that will be available to firms who apply for it from 1 January. It covers firms that do not have UK branches and allows them to change the description firms must give customers on the FSCS so they can delete references to asking for more information in a branch (since the firm will not have one). FSA intends to change its rules to reflect this.
