Following hot on the heels of the 14 November 2013 opinion given by the Advocate General in Georgetown University C-484/12, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) issued its judgement on 13 December 2013. The CJEU held that the Supplementary Protection Certificate (SPC) Regulation does not preclude the grant of more than one SPC per patent where the basic patent in question protects multiple products.
