During the last quarter of 2014, the Industrial Property Registry has experienced positive changes with respect to the automation and streamlining of several administrative procedures that facilitate the registration process of patents and trademarks. By Official Notice dated 19 August 2014, the Registry announced the implementation of two services:

  • Creation of costumer services box office, concentrating in a single office different services such as information, billing, filing and storage; and
  • Implementation of a new on-line mechanism in order to obtain the mandatory availability search of trademarks, by which the applicant receives the search results via email within a period of time that does not exceed two (2) working days.
