The Panamanian government, through the Ministry of Health, Sanitation Project of the City and Bay of Panama launched the Public Tender No. LPI-SCBP-01-2015, for the hiring of the Design, Construction, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of the Second Module of the Wastewater Treatment Plant of Panama City.
The scope of work to be tendered is the design, construction, equipment and installation of the second module of the wastewater treatment plant of Panama City, and the operation and maintenance of the first and second modules of such plants.
The period considered for the design and construction of the second module of the plant is thirty six (36) months. The operation of the first module of the plant begins on May 13, 2017, and for the second module will begin about three (3) years, after its completion of the design and construction. The period of operation and maintenance, which will include both modules of the plants, will be eleven (11) years.
Part of the funds for the payment of project, will be financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The supplement will come from the local counterpart of the general budget of the Republic of Panama. The estimated budget for this project is $ 342,507,000.00, divided as follows:
